An Eternal Building

Once, Socrates saw in the marketplace many things that were displayed for sale. Do you know what was his comment? He said: “How many are the things I can do without”. Philosophers! Contentment is a treasure. Not too long ago, many of us were living a life of greed. For young and old, life consisted in how one achieves material success, how one acquires what he desires. Today, our situation has differed, it differed a lot. Poverty has increased on earth. Most people have absolutely become “philosophers”! Can we preserve something out of what has occurred? Contentment is not (merely) a moral attitude. It is a position from the world, an acceptance of the fact that “the form of this world is passing away” (1 Corinthians 7:31). It is an expected wisdom that we emerge from this crisis to a perfect conviction that there is something which is greater than the world. Shall we build, on earth, that we are in a journey to eternity?
