A Better Tomorrow

He told me: “a lot of people have left us to go abroad. The idea of remaining in the country has become retardation or suicide. People grew tired. I read that 70% of our young people have ended their relationship with Lebanon! What country is like ours in which Man feels unwanted! I no longer understand those who are calling people to stay. In order to stay, people want a real country, a country we all belong to, and which is all ours”. I listened to him carefully. I summed up my comment by saying: “where would I be? This is something I do not decide apart from God”. I did not tell him anything that he is not convinced of. The fact of the matter is that many of the strong people among us have grown weary. I say to my countrymen today as well: “emptying Lebanon does not make it. Do not crucify yourselves over a reality that cannot be changed without us. Those who are leaving their country are seeking help from tomorrow. They are seeking a better tomorrow. We are able to achieve this right here, for ourselves and for others. Not only do I tell you: be brave, but also persevere! No courage changes reality without perseverance. This is the guarantee of a better tomorrow”!
