Children of Lebanon

I am not in favor of capital punishment, regardless of the crime that calls for it. I believe that capital punishment breaks God’s law, as only He has the right to reclaim the life He had given; therefore, I see it as an unlawful law. However, yesterday, during a really heated discussion, I found myself unable to stand up to some friends who were insisting that the Lebanese judiciary should impose the most severe punishment on those who violated human dignity by luring minors to sexually abuse them. They said, "The TikTok gang, the criminals who do not represent Lebanon, should be executed". I seemed to be absent even though I was present. It is not that I avoided defending God’s law, but rather, all my words had deserted me. I am confessing publicly. I have heard people say that most adults who abuse children were themselves abused by an adult during their childhood. Repeating the crime does not extenuate it. Lebanon must speak with one voice:
