He was sitting on the edge, looking tired from a long journey, and thirsty. When I approached the well, holding my jug, His words made me feel that He had been waiting for me. With a few words about water and this well, Jacob's well, He broke the distance I was perceiving between us. In an instant, He captured my heart. I had never met anyone like Him, able to unify a person inside and out. In His presence, I felt that I, myself, was completely transparent, as clear as the sun. I asked Him about many things, I asked Him about the mountain of God, and about the coming Messiah. His presence elevated me so that I spoke to Him, telling Him about myself. This Man resembles Himself, resembling the God who wants us to be new. I did not dare conceal any details of my life from Him, which He seemed to know better than I did. The sun, which shines from His sky and from His eyes, knows what it sees! I left Him, or rather, I left everything to convey His command to my people.
