Today, I will not list all his known choices for you. I will content myself with two of them, namely: Antioch as the ground for his priesthood ministry, and the Orthodox Youth Movement. Those who have known Father George up close cannot fail to know that his charismatic personality and academic qualifications... were passports to anywhere he desired. Antioch, this Antioch in this expanse in which we grew up knowing it to be a region of death, was, for him, a lush paradise. Everything in it was a grace that meant a lot to him. He was a voice of one crying in the face of both young and old that abandoning our land, without being commissioned, regardless of the difficulties we are facing, is an impromptu commission! Regeneration, both ecclesiastically and nationally, lies in working. What you aspire to is also required of you where you are. The second choice was the Movement that he knew he would not truly be a brother in Antioch unless he is in its midst. This is a tribute to the consciousness that was both a father and a mother for him.
