Before I was told by a friend of mine who visited us in our house here, I did not know the meaning of what I had seen on some of the roads of the city. Walking is revelatory! One day, I was taking a morning walk. The city seemed to have woken up early before dawn. In front of two or three houses, I saw things on the sidewalks, a dismantled closet here, a bed mattress there, a stove... I thought the city was being over-civilized. I thought that, on this day of the week, its municipality collects household waste, and on another day it collects what its residents had decided to throw away from the old furniture they had replaced in their homes. Then the vision was repeated. My friend told me: \u201cThese items that are placed in front of houses are for distribution. They are items whose owners no longer want. They left them for any poor passerby who needs them\u201d. Love is the most eloquent sound a city can make.
