There is no country like Lebanon that teaches you to \u201cfend for yourself\u201d: in your health safety; in your children\u2019s education; in water and electricity, and in your commute\u2026 Do not expect from the country, that is, those who are supposed to rule it, to help you in anything. It is preoccupied with many things, but \u201cyou\u201d are not one of them! Indeed, we are living in an unfathomable country. When I wrote these lines, one of my priest friends was holding my hand. I asked him for a favor. He told me he was in the car on an errand to drive one of his children to university. He said, \"I will see what to do after I return\". I thought about his time. This is a man who works in the service of God and Man. Lebanon is stealing his time from him for something that the world has preceded us to, even in the unknown regions of the earth, namely, public transportation. Lebanon does not care about your time. It exploits you. It crucifies you to take care of yourself in the details of your life. This is our country, to which we have given our lives, it is our own making.
