Christ, Who by His death has conquered death, is revealed as King over the universe. When we say He has ascended, we do not mean that in His Divinity, He has acquired a new status, a lofty place in which He was not. He is pre-existing, high, above. He is the Creator of existence, what is seen and what is not seen. What we say about His Ascension is that He has placed His humanity, which He had taken from Mary, at the right hand of God the Father, \u201cfar above all principality and power and might and dominion\u2026\u201d (Ephesians 1:21). This explains the yearning, that is in us, for heaven (2 Corinthians 5:2). We are in Christ; we are from above. These words are hard for those in whom yearning has dried up. Vices are killing us ideologically and actually. The Christian is not from below. There are Saints who have relied on this gift, that is, on the seating of our humanity in heaven, to say that we are in Christ from eternity.
