There are dilemmas that contradict this unity in Lebanon, of which I will mention two. The first relates to the request that you be mentioned publicly, in some Church services, whether you attend or send a representative on your behalf. The fault in this mention is that it makes you appear to be different from the ecclesial community. I am not looking, in the Church, for what preserves your civic position, but rather, for what keeps you belonging to the brethren. The second dilemma relates to the flags of your parties, which we sometimes see in Church halls on what are meant to appear as occasions that belong to you (the falling asleep of one of your partisans, for example). This is also wrong. In a heterogeneous country, the Church should not, even momentarily, appear to be a factional house. I am not discussing now partisanship or its practice in Lebanon, but rather I am assuring you that the Church is always everyone\u2019s house, on all occasions. I am addressing you. I know that this can be resolved with a single word by the leaders of the Churches who also have these lines before their eyes. However, I am confident that we can all participate in committing to the Truth and in defending it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
The Church is a fraternal society in which we are all one.
