The Word, from the generosity of grace, brings distances closer, of whatever form they are. Is there anything that enjoins the bishop to write? Writing is not for everyone. However, it is up to the bishops to teach, to spread the Word, the obedience to which is life sanctifying. Do committed writers demand that they leave a legacy that preserves their memory? Nobody likes to go away. However, my convictions are that the bishop, if he writes, it is in order to escape from the noise of the city to some of the calmness of hermitages. This preserves, and keeps! Every time my friend sends me an article from one of our writers, she issues it with her command: \"Read this.\" Nothing is more valuable than obedience to brethren.
