{"id":7438,"date":"2022-04-06T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-04-05T21:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fatherelia.org\/en\/posts\/to-believe\/"},"modified":"2025-04-18T08:29:45","modified_gmt":"2025-04-18T05:29:45","slug":"to-believe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fatherelia.org\/en\/reflections\/to-believe\/","title":{"rendered":"To Believe!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am taking from Sunday\u2019s Gospel a word that Jesus had addressed to a man who came to Him asking Him to heal his son, that is, His saying to him: \u201cif you can believe\u2026\u201d (Mark 9:17-31). This is God's word to us in this great Lent. Before we conclude this fast, God wants to inquire, again, about our faith. Are you (me, you or you) a believer? Are you, in any circumstance, really able to keep your faith? God does not want to shock us, but rather to help us lay aside from us everything that clings to us from the dust of this world, and to establish us in His love always and forever. How? By three things he expects us to remind ourselves of every day. 1 - That, as long as God talks to us about our relationship with Him, it means that He cares about us, and that He is steadfast in His love towards us. 2- That faith is a gift that only bears fruit in the humble. 3- That life is a battle in which only the one who possesses the weapon of God (prayer and fasting) can be victorious.
